At Bamboom, we take your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personally identifiable information like your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number. Please review this Privacy Policy, which applies to all visitors to Bamboom’s website.
What categories of personal information does Bamboom collect?
You can view the Bamboom website without disclosing any personal information. To access television signals using Bamboom-provided technology, you must provide some personal information that allows us to identify you and locate your home viewing area.
For pre-launch (beta) users, Bamboom collects your name, e-mail address, and home ZIP code from the information that you provide. We also collect and store the Internet Protocol (IP) address (a number that identifies your computer or device while it is connected to the Internet). We may also collect demographic data such as your age, sex, and answers to questions about your entertainment preferences and Internet use habits.
For post-launch users, Bamboom also will collect your payment information, such as a credit card number, and your home address. At your option, Bamboom will collect login information for third-party sites to allow you to connect to those sites through Bamboom.
Does Bamboom use cookies or other identifying technologies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that are sent to your Internet browser and stored on your computer or device. Cookies store information about your activities on a website or other platform. In general, cookies can make the Internet more useful by storing information about your preferences. Bamboom uses a cookie or similar technologies to assign a unique token that identifies your computer or device. This token verifies your identity and the number of devices you are using to connect to Bamboom. If your browser is set to reject cookies, you will not be able to watch television using the Bamboom-supplied technology.
How does Bamboom use the personal information it collects?
Bamboom only uses payment information, such as credit card numbers, as necessary for completing a particular transaction. Bamboom uses your mailing address and IP address to verify your home location. We may also use your name, mailing address, and e-mail address to send you offers of new products and features.
While Bamboom does enable television viewing that may appeal to children, we do not intentionally seek to collect information from individuals 13 years of age and younger, nor do we knowingly collect personal information from children 13 and younger.
Does Bamboom give personal information to third parties?
Bamboom uses other companies, agents or contractors to perform services on our behalf, such as credit card and other payment processing, selecting users for beta testing of our products, and analyzing user demographics in the aggregate for product planning purposes. In the course of providing such services, these other companies may have access to your personal information. We require these companies to agree that they will only use personally identifiable information about you that they have obtained from us to provide us with specific services that we have requested and not for any other purpose.
If we sell all or part of our business, or make a sale or transfer of assets, or are otherwise involved in a merger or business transfer, we may transfer your personal information to one or more third parties as part of that transaction.
We may be legally required to disclose information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances.
When you use a third party service through the Bamboom website, the third party may collect personal information about you in accordance with its own privacy policy.
How does Bamboom maintain the security of your personal information?
We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative measures to safeguard personal information in our possession against loss, theft and unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification. For example, passwords and other sensitive information are encrypted in transit. We also take steps to ensure that only those Bamboom employees, agents, and contractors who have a legitimate business reason to obtain access to your personally identifiable information are granted access. We require third parties who perform services on our behalf to use reasonable measures to safeguard your personal information.
When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card information on our order forms), we encrypt that information using secure sockets layering technology (SSL), an industry standard protocol for billing transmission in order to protect the financial information you send us. We store your payment information in encrypted form.
Unfortunately, no security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information and cannot assume liability for improper access to it.
How are changes to this policy announced?
As we update and expand our services, or if there are changes to the law or industry initiatives, we may make changes to this policy.
