Aereo is looking for a highly capable marketing rockstar with former office/professional experience. This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to shape the marketing strategy for one of the most exciting online television businesses in the US. Primary Responsibility:

Social Media Coordinator
The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for developing and executing the company’ssocial media strategy and building the brand’s online presence and community. Execution ofthe social media plan may include maintaining and tracking social media accounts, engagingand building various online communities, contributing to the corporate blog, and leading thecharge with email and text messaging campaigns. The ideal candidate would have a strongbackground in B2C marketing and PR, with three years of hands-on business social mediaexperience including a robust writing portfolio, creative flair and passion for technology!Agency experience preferred. The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with, and reportdirectly to the Director of Marketing. This is a full-time position based in our New York office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building the Aereo online community
- Manage and track company’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook,LinkedIn, Foursquare, SCVNGR, and others
- Help contribute to corporate blog and newsletter
- Build brand image and awareness through active participation in online communities

Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years marketing, PR or social media management experience

- First-hand experience writing a blog and/or managing a website is a plus

Assistant Controller
We are seeking an experienced assistant controller to manage the financial and accounting operations and controls of the company. This person will be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment and participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance existing systems, scope and design new financial systems and drive efficiency improvements in our monthly close in a rapidly growing, early-stage company environment.
The Assistant Controller will report to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities will include:
- 100% of the bookkeeping functions in Quickbooks
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Implement and oversee control systems, transaction processing operations, and policies and procedures
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are complete
- Create and issue timely and accurate financial and operating statements
- Maintain Payroll and pre-tax employee benefits function
- Assist as needed with certain human resources activities
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Assist in creating reports for board of directors and investors
- Assist in managing cash in interest bearing instruments
- Create and maintain credit facilities with vendors
- Implement cost accounting system
- Improve cash lifecycle management
- Work with accountants to manage company statutory audit
- Responsible for tax payments and reporting compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, property and other related taxing authorities
- Special projects, research activities and other duties as assigned by the Senior Director
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with an emphasis in Accounting required
- MBA and/or CPA would be given strong preference
- QuickBooks and Excel Expert
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience (technology or startup environment preferred)
- Prior work experience at a Manager level in any “Big Four” public accounting firms preferred
- Solid technical knowledge of GAAP and ability to research and document complex accounting transactions required
Senior Software Engineer
We have a need for a Senior Software Engineer C/C++ and Linux expert for streaming applications. Skills of interest include Java and C language programming, System Reliability and Architecture, Robustness, Network Security, Network Management, plus experience with MP4 and File Storage Systems. Ideal candidate will have some working knowledge of MPEG-TS and H.264.
You will be one of a small highly skilled team of software and hardware engineers engaged in building a product from its inception, so your work will be through the entire design cycle: architecture, implementation, system integration and deployment.
Educational background required is Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering. Strong Verbal, and written communication skills.
Manufacturing/Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer
We have a need for an energetic Manufacturing Engineer/Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to be the technical interface to our Electronic Manufacturing Service teams. You will be responsible for timely, conforming delivery of proprietary and off the shelf electronic subsystems to our Operations team for Production. Will set Quality Levels, analyze supplier performance, initiate improvements, lead corrective actions as needed. Works closely with Design Engineering and needs to be a do anything– roll up the sleeves, hands on type who is unencumbered by formality. Will be responsible from prototype to high volume production.
Educational background required is an ASET or ASME minimum, BSME or BSEE preferred. Military experience, Amateur or Commercial radio license will also be favorably viewed. Formal training in QA including Root Cause Analysis, and 5 years minimum experience with consumer high volume RF products required.
You will be one of a small highly skilled team of professionals building and operating the Aereo service from its inception, so your work will be highly visible. Position is located in Boston but will require frequent local travel and quarterly trips to Mexico for 1 week or the Far East for up to 10 days.
IT Systems Engineer-IPTV
We have a need for an IT Systems Engineer/expert for IPTV and VOD streaming applications. You will configure, install, deploy and maintain proprietary and off the shelf hardware and software components of our System Infrastructure. Will be responsible for Network Security, administration of streaming and File Storage Systems, application servers, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VM, Metro-IP, DAS, DIA. Ideal candidate will have production experience with streaming H.264 video and AAC transport. Will support both Linux and Windows based systems.
You will be one of a small highly skilled team of software and hardware engineers engaged in building and operating a service from its inception, so your work will be through the entire lifecycle: architecture, implementation, system integration, deployment and maintenance. You will have an opportunity for mentorship.

Release & QA Engineer
We have a need for a Mid-level to Senior Software Engineer full time with flexibility to perform two half-time roles: Release Engineer and QA/System Test Engineer. In the role of Release Engineer, you will the enhance and innovate Aereo’s software development and build environments, product release processes, and surrounding engineering systems. In the role of QA/System Test Engineer, along with other QA colleagues, you will develop, implement and execute automatic test processes with a special emphasis on the combination of creating and testing releases generated in the Continuous Integration.
Thorough to expert level knowledge in Linux, bash shell programming, Python, Continuous Integration tools such as Buildbot or Tinderbox, RedHat/CentOS, automatic and scaled testing methods, and Defect Resolution. Ideal candidate will also have significant C++ knowledge and some experience with Tcl/Tk/Expect, PHP, Java.
You will generate release packages, identify and implement tools to measure code quality and generate build results and metrics to improve the development process. You will work closely with senior developers to direct architectures for code refactoring, servers, and software structure. You will also schedule and drive test milestones in a fast moving agile development environment using your hands-on defect identification skills to drive to resolution.
